On 9th July 2019, we were pleased to accept a #MyWestminster award for ‘Voluntary Contribution ti the Community’. This award was a welcome boost to acknowledge all our hard work in the last year spent settling into our new home.
This week, we decided to have a celebration lunch and we’re wearing some lovely T Shirts courtesy of one of our funders. Our weekly Drop In is Funded by People’s Health Trust using money raised by HealthHope through The Health Lottery.
The funding: Active Communities supports, people to create and shape local projects that will help their community or neighbourhood to become even better. Active Communities projects aim to develop social links and ties and support residents to discuss and act on things that are important to them. In June 2018 we moved into our new home @472 Harrow Road, W9 3RU in North Westminster. We have had a roller-coaster of a year once we secured the lease after months of negotiation, paperwork and preparation. In the last year: we cleaned, repaired and painted; we sourced new, old and donated furniture; we promoted and marketed and leafleted our new address; we worked in the garden and more…
Following feedback from our service users, this year we added more activities to our service. In addition to the staples, from our new community hub we ran the following activities:

In 2018, we entered the Tesco Bags of help Community Competition. We wanted to transform a small concrete wasteland into a lovely garden space where we could grow flowers and herbs. Just over one year ago, we were pleased to discover WE WON.
